Introduction to critically thinking of a project concept and thereafter preparing a project management plan, including budgets, schedules and risk management plans

Corporate Finance

This concentration is for students who wish to specialize in the finance area at a property or corporate level. The objectives for this course are related to promoting sound hospitality (i.e., primary hotels, but also restaurants and related land uses such as time share and condominium) real estate finance decisions using methods in financial economics. During the 10-week period, we explore the topics of valuation, debt financing arrangements, equity capital structures, and the institutions that serve as the foundation for hospitality real estate. The course features a mix of theoretical and practical approaches to these topics including case studies and lectures from industry specialists whenever possible. The operating premise is that we want to make money in every hospitality real estate transaction.
In this course, the student learns how to value a hotel property, hotel or tourism development project, or publicly quoted hotel REIT based on the analysis and evaluation of different factors: economic and real estate market cycles, tax, legal and regulatory environment, supply and demand profile of a hotel or tourism market, the forecast of revenues and expenses, the diverse possibilities for financing and the different types of “asset management” structures

International Economics

The strategic and marketing aspects of importing and exporting goods and services as well as the legal, fiscal and administrative framework of international trade both as exporter/producer and importer/purchaser.

International Business Law

The development of low-cost transportation has made the world smaller. People travel all around the world, and businesses develop partnerships and subsidiaries. Globalisation has become a part of the day-to-day life. Therefore, dealing with foreign actors in an international legal environment requests some knowledge of the applicable rules. With an increased competition on the international stage, the strategic position of companies will rely on the knowledge of those different bodies of law (French laws, European legislation, and International treaties). Any manager wishing to work in an international environment will discover in this course the main topics he should be aware of: International business agreements, competition law, intellectual property (trade-marks), and labour law.

International Finance

The workshop looks at four aspects of international financial management: the foreign exchange markets, the basic relationships between exchange rates, inflation and interest rates, hedging exchange rate risk (in the short term) and international capital budgeting (in the longer term)

Strategic Human Resources Management

A survey of the basic principles and functions that include planning, work analysis, position classification, job specifications, recruitment, staffing, performance management and appraisal, labor-management relations, training, and other personnel functions. Topics include statutory and regulatory constraints and outsourcing and privatization.

GMAT Training

GMAT : Graduate Management Admission Test
